The second-seeded Grizzlies, 26-12, fell to eventual Region 16 champion Mineral Area College of Park Hills, Mo., 21-25, 23-25, 18-25 in the semifinal match. The third-seeded Cardinals defeated first-seeded Jefferson College of Hillsboro, Mo., 26-24, 25-22, 25-22 in Saturday’s championship match and will represent Region 16 in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Women’s National Volleyball Championship Tournament Nov. 17-19 at the West Plains Civic Center. This will be the Cardinals’ first ever trip to the national tournament, according to tournament history information.
