2008 CAMP INFORMATION

Skills Camp

July 17-19 (7th -12th Grade)
Cost:  $175.00 (Commuter) / $225 (dorm & all meals)

This camp will cover all the skills needed to play great volleyball.  Progressions will be used to teach passing, setting, digging, serving, and attacking.

Camp Schedule :

July 17 1:00 – 3:30p.m. / 5:30 – 8:00p.m.
July 18  9:00 – 11:30a.m. / 1:00 – 3:30p.m. / 5:30 – 8:00p.m.
July 19   9:00 – 11:30a.m. / 1:00 – 3:30p.m.
 

Check In:
Resident: 12:00 noon on July 17 at the Grizzly House

Commuter: 12:30 p.m. at the West Plains Civic Center

  Elementary Day Camp

July 17 & 18 (players entering 3rd – 6th – grade)  
Cost:  $60 / $75 with Lunch  

Fundamentals and fun will be stressed.  Lightweight Volley-lite volleyballs will be used for 3rd and 4th graders.   All campers receive a free t-shirt.

9:00 – 11:30a.m. / lunch break (11:30 – 1:00p.m.) / 1:00 – 3:30p.m.

 Setter / Attacker Day Camp

July 8 (7th – 12th Grade)

Cost: $65

This is a great camp for beginners or advanced players to concentrate on setting or attacking.

Camp Schedule :
July 8             9:30a.m. – 12:00 noon / 1:30 – 4:30p.m.

Check In:  9:00a.m. at the West Plains Civic Center

  Freshmen, Junior Varsity, & Varsity Team Camp

July 9-12 (must have at least eight players per team)

Cost:   $175 commuters / $235 Resident (all meals except noon on the 12th provided)  Dorm spaces limited.  Overflow will be placed at local motels.

This camp is a great value.  We do skills the first day and a day and ½ of team practice sessions.  Competition starts at 1:00p.m. on the 14th.  Camp ends be 6:00p.m. on the 15th.  Each team gets a camp coach to help with practice sessions.

1:30 – 4:30 p.m. / 6:00p.m. – 8:00p.m.     Skills Day

July 10
Team practices throughout the day.  Competition in the evening.

July 11
Team practices in the morning. Tournament starts at 1:00p.m.

July 12
Tournament  continues.

Commuters: 1:00p.m. for Commuters at the West Plains Civic Center on July 9

  Team Competition Camp

July 11 & 12
(Separate Divisions for Freshmen, Junior Varsity, and Varsity Teams)

Cost:   $250 per Team

Our competition camp provides a minimum of six full matches.  Awards for 1st and 2nd Place teams in each division.  (1st place – Tachikara Ball Cart, 2nd place – Official Game Ball).  Coaches must have signed release forms on all players at check in.

July 11       Competition begins at 1:00p.m.

July 12      9:00a.m. – 5:00p.m.

 

Check In: One hour before your team starts competition at the West Plains Civic Center

  Advanced Specialist Camp

July 14-16 (High School age Players)  
Cost:  $175 Commuters / $225 Resident (dorm and all meals)

This camp is for the high school player who really wants to improve in her position.  Specialist camp allows setters, attackers, and liberos to concentrate on the position they play.

General Camp Information

Ratio
The ratio of campers to coach will not exceed a 12 to 1 ratio

Outstanding Facilities
Missouri State –West Plains Camp facilities are the same as those used by the athletes at Missouri State University – West Plains.  All camp sessions will be held at the West Plains Civic Center .

Equipment
All equipment for camp will be supplied by the Grizzly Volleyball Camps except for personal clothing.  All campers should bring comfortable gym clothing and court shoes.  Extra socks are suggested.

Volleyball Apparel
Volleyball apparel will be sold throughout all camps.

T-Shirts
Each camper will receive a grizzly volleyball camp T-shirt except for competition campers.

Housing
Players who wish to follow the resident camp option will be housed in the air-conditioned Grizzly House.  Resident campers must provide their own linens and towels

Supervision
Missouri State – West Plains offers the ideal setting for a fun-filled week of camp.  Adult staff members will live in the residence hall with the campers, providing 24-hour supervision.

Cancellation Policy
Deposits are non-refundable.  Camp fees will only be refunded if requested a minimum of two weeks before the start date of camp.

Insurance
The Missouri State – West Plains volleyball program has acquired insurance to cover expenses incurred as a direct result of camp participation.  This coverage is an inexcess (secondary) coverage paying medical expenses incurred after your insurance has paid its limits.

How to Register
Printout and Complete the attached registration form from the brochure and mail it along with the full camp fee or a deposit of half the total camp cost.
